Fishing Report for February 9th 2009!!!

Fellow Fishermen & Fisherwomen, Not much to report from this last week's activity as the STRONG WINDS kept us off the Lake during the Thursday-Saturday period. The Weekend before and the first of last week produced some nice catches of White Bass. One of our Guide Friends also reported that the Hybrid Stripers had also turned on for a few days. We weren't fishing in the area where the Hybrids came from so no news from us on that account, but usually when the Whites get going , the Hybrid Stripers do too! As of this writing, we're getting some much needed rain in the RC area. Hopefully, the next couple of days will live up to the forecast of a couple of inches total to fall on us! The Lake is almost 5' low, but as Adam reminded me the other day...one of his best Spring Crappie Seasons occurred a couple of years ago with Lake conditions as they are now. He just had to look in different locations depending on the Lake level. The Crappie should turn on by mid to late March and then be very good fishing for at least six weeks. Couple of reminders: * We've offering $75 per person fishing trip thru February! Hopefully the bite we had last week will just get better and we don't get any of the severe Cold Fronts that can change the activity. Give us a call as we have lots of openings the remainder of February. If you do book a trip and the weather turns bad, you're under no obligation to take the trip. Cold or Rain is not FUN! * Our March calendar still has plenty of Weekdays open and a few Saturday slots open. We have at least one boat open most of the Spring Break days...March 16th-March 21st. We consider March the start of our Spring Fishing Season and we're usually on the Lake six days a week. If you want one of those days, write us a note or give us a call. * April has quite a few Weekdays open, but here's the few Saturday openings we still have available....18th & 25th, we have one boat open in the Afternoon. Great fishing in the AM & PM in April!!! Wish we had more "Catchin" to report, but not many folks call in February call to fish. If the temperatures stay as they are now, we may have the earliest Spring in a few years, and the Fishing good from now till next Winter! Let's hope so!!! Have a Great Day, Royce & Adam SimmonsGone Fishin' Guide Servicewww.gonefishin.biz903-389-4117
